POETRY & BOOKS

BOOK “TITA ON JUST ONE LEG” The   life   and   story   of   Tita,   a   girl   that   learns   to   live   “on   just   one leg”,   due   to   the   death   of   her   father   and   her   encounter   with   the world   of   the   “grown-ups”   who   don’t   know   what   they   are   doing. “Tita,   on   just   one   leg”   is   the   first   in   a   series   of   books   (published   as a    project    between    Mille    Gru    and    SpazioStudio    and    with    the contribution   of   the   Arbor   Foundation)   that   will   have   poetry   and the “child” at their heart.
“POETRY AS NOURISHING AS BREAD” “Poetry   as   nourishing   as   bread”   is   an   intercultural   project   that uses   poetry   workshops   as   a   means   of   appreciating   a   fabric   of voices   that   are   rarely   heard   and   creating   a   network   in   order   to involve   many   different   actors   so   that   their   poetry   can   become   a means   of   transporting   ideas   and   interpersonal   relationships.   The workshops   aim   to   nurture   the   city’s   social   fabric,   above   all   in places where people from many different countries live together.
“I CHING THE BOOK OF CHANGES” Alongside     the     various     philosophical     interpretations     of     this enigmatic   classic,   exists   an   oracular   tradition   that   goes   back   to   the shamanic   images   of   the   text,   refusing   the   previously   established literature.   In   this   way,   the   imagery   of   the   book   acquires   a   specific sense   in   the   dialogue   between   the   question   and   the   situation   of the reader, much like in the interpretation of a dream. Born    in    the    context    of    Eranos,    the    cultural    center    visited    by intellectuals   such   as   the   likes   of   Carl   Gustav   Jung,   Martin   Buber and   Mircea   Eliade,   this   translation   of   the   I   Ching,   the   first   of   its kind   directly   from   Chinese   into   Italian,   was   originally   published in   1996   and,   thanks   to   the   support   of   the   Arbor   Foundation,   has now    been    revived,    reviewed,    and    enhanced    with    a    new    and updated introduction.
BOOK “DIAMOND SUTRA” This   is   the   first   Italian,   and   maybe   even   European,   book   in   which Buddhist ethics are treated as a whole. The   first   part   deals   with   Buddhist   ethics,   and   the   second   part with   ‘western’   ethics.   The   second   part   of   the   book   also   deals   with the   disturbing   issues   raised   by   neuroethics,   a   field   of   study   where it   seems   ever   less   doubtful   that   the   most   intimate   choices   made by    man    depend    on    his    organic    mechanisms,    genetics    and chemical make-up. Authors: Marassi and Iorio.
BOOK “THE FREE PATH” Other   than   being   the   first   Italian   translation   carried   out   directly from    Sanskrit    accompanied    by    a    detailed    commentary,    this edition   includes   a   philosophical   essay   that   explores   the   linguistic strand   of   the   Western   mysticism   starting   from   its   origin,   up   until realizing    a    parallel    regarding    the    meaningful    function    of    the Eastern and Western spirit of mysticism. Translated   by   Mauricio   Y.   Marassi,   with   a   philosophical   essay   by Gennaro Iorio. Marietti, Genova-Milano 2011. DOWNLOAD THE BOOK
BOOK “JOURNEY 34” The   ‘Journey”   from   an   intercultural   perspective:   meeting,   across many   religions,   myths,   cultures   and   literatures,   the   plurality   of human   experiences   and   realities.   The   journey   is   also   an   initiation into    the    “mystery    of    the    other”,    processing    all    of    our    human experiences, fascinating as well as shocking. Writen by Gianni Vacchelli.
“OPERAZIONE SCACCIAPENSIERI” Not   all   books   answer   when   you   knock.   The   book   ‘Scacciapensieri’ is   an   ear   that   listens,   the   friend   that   always   has   a   poem   in   his pocket   that   brightens   a   dark   day.   The   anthology   is   composed   of 64   poems   written   by   14   poets,   subdivided   in   7   medicines   and   one special    medicine.    In    reality    many    are    poems    that    absolve    the functions   of   more   medicines   and,   to   tell   the   truth,   these   poems could   work   together,   like   many   chicks,   under   the   wing   of   the medicine that subsumes all others – love.
